An Amazing Dream

Many of my visitors to this blog have read time and again how long I drive to work. My work place which is in Virginia near the Dulles Airport, is 44 miles from my home at Burtonsville, Maryland. I go to work 2 or 3 times a week, and it takes close to 1 and 1/2 hours when there is absolutely no traffic.And almost 2-3 hours when the highways are packed during the rush hour.

So, this close to 2 hours drive I spend mostly listening to devotional songs in the morning. The first thing I listen to and sing along is Sree Vishnu Sahasranama which takes exactly 27 minutes. The next hour or so I listen to mostly Sree Raghavendra Stotra, Jaya Jaya Veeve Raghvendra and other devotional songs by Sri Bhimsen joshi and so on.

So, this Friday while listening to Jaya Jaya Veeve Raghavendra, I had this thought. I kept telling Rayaru, not that he doesn’t know that ” I was one of his greatest devotees. I had never prayed for him just when I was going through difficult times, but was doing so everyday, no matter where I was, how I was, what was going though my mind. I don’t ever pray to you asking for any favors unless it is a major health related issue which we are unable to do anything in spite of getting Doctor’s advise. ” And finally I asked Rayaru” Just for once, can you please come in my dream and show me how you are. I really want to see you”.

After a few minutes, this thought process was gone out of my mind. As soon as I reached work, I was extremely busy. And by the time I reached home it was almost 8.30 PM and the whole drive to work and my thoughts had completely vanished.

However, I guess Rayaru had remembered what I had asked for. At around 4.30 AM in the morning on Saturday, I had this dream. I was in Mantralaya with Sneha( my daughter). We were looking at the back of a very old person sitting and doing Pooja and sandhyavadhane. I was telling Sneha that it was Rayaru doing pooje. And as soon as Rayaru heard our voice he turned and looked at us. At this point, we saw not a very old person, but a divine person whose face was radiating with immense love and affection. I just can’t describe his face and how divine he looked. I keep telling my Daughter to see him and just in time got woken up.

I have had many many dreams when I have done Rayara seva, when I have been deeply troubled, have faced many difficulties. All these times, it was me calling for help or support from him. But this time it was entirely different. I had asked to see Rayaru in my dream, and here I was seeing him. It was an amazing dream, which I will remember and cherish throughout my life.

I told about this dream to my family, my parents and my sister. My Mom kept telling that Rayaru is everywhere, and it was amazing that he traveled all the way from Mantralaya to Burtonsville in USA to be part of my dream.

And as my extended family, I had to tell about this dream to several of my well wishers here in the blog. Lately, I have seen several comments from people about their belief in Rayaru, and this dream of mine will once again prove that the one and only thing that Rayaru asks from all his devotees is utter devotion. And that he is there here on this earth only to help all his devotees.
