An Amazing Dream

Many of my visitors to this blog have read time and again how long I drive to work. My work place which is in Virginia near the Dulles Airport, is 44 miles from my home at Burtonsville, Maryland. I go to work 2 or 3 times a week, and it takes close to 1 and 1/2 hours when there is absolutely no traffic. And almost 2-3 hours when the highways are packed during the rush hour.

So, this close to 2 hours drive I spend mostly listening to devotional songs in the morning. The first thing I listen to and sing along is Sree Vishnu Sahasranama which takes exactly 27 minutes. The next hour or so I listen to mostly Sree Raghavendra Stotra, Jaya Jaya Veeve Raghvendra and other devotional songs by Sri Bhimsen joshi and so on.

So, this Friday while listening to Jaya Jaya Veeve Raghavendra, I had this thought. I kept telling Rayaru, not that he doesn’t know that ” I was one of his greatest devotees. I had never prayed for him just when I was going through difficult times, but was doing so everyday, no matter where I was, how I was, what was going though my mind. I don’t ever pray to you asking for any favors unless it is a major health related issue which we are unable to do anything in spite of getting Doctor’s advise. ” And finally I asked Rayaru” Just for once, can you please come in my dream and show me how you are. I really want to see you”.

After a few minutes, this thought process was gone out of my mind. As soon as I reached work, I was extremely busy. And by the time I reached home it was almost 8.30 PM and the whole drive to work and my thoughts had completely vanished.

However, I guess Rayaru had remembered what I had asked for. At around 4.30 AM in the morning on Saturday, I had this dream. I was in Mantralaya with Sneha( my daughter). We were looking at the back of a very old person sitting and doing Pooja and sandhyavadhane. I was telling Sneha that it was Rayaru doing pooje. And as soon as Rayaru heard our voice he turned and looked at us. At this point, we saw not a very old person, but a divine person whose face was radiating with immense love and affection. I just can’t describe his face and how divine he looked. I keep telling my Daughter to see him and just in time got woken up.

I have had many many dreams when I have done Rayara seva, when I have been deeply troubled, have faced many difficulties. All these times, it was me calling for help or support from him. But this time it was entirely different. I had asked to see Rayaru in my dream, and here I was seeing him. It was an amazing dream, which I will remember and cherish throughout my life.

I told about this dream to my family, my parents and my sister. My Mom kept telling that Rayaru is everywhere, and it was amazing that he traveled all the way from Mantralaya to Burtonsville in USA to be part of my dream.

And as my extended family, I had to tell about this dream to several of my well wishers here in the blog. Lately, I have seen several comments from people about their belief in Rayaru, and this dream of mine will once again prove that the one and only thing that Rayaru asks from all his devotees is utter devotion. And that he is there here on this earth only to help all his devotees.

Last but not the least let me once again say ” Sree Raghavendraya Namaha”.

You have been truly blessed by Rayar. HIM coming in your dream is nothing short of a miracle. He is always with his devotees. He knows every thought that goes through them. He is “Kalpavrisha Kamadhenu” in this yuga. Your daughter is also truly blessed to be part of this dream.

Meeraghu: You’re really one of the very few select devotees of Rayaru to have His dharshan in dream. I’ve heard from very serious Rayaru devotees that they too have had seen Him in dreams and in ‘reality’. Much more, at least one very ripe Sri Vaishnavite devotee has actually been saved by Rayaru from death, as the devotee and his family were walking on the railway tracks on Tungabadhra river to reach the holy ‘bhrindhavan’, when the family confronted a fast train came on the tracks from the opposite direction towards them. Furthermore, there was heavy rain at that time. When the Lakshmi Nrisimhar and Rayaru devotee thought of Rayaru at that time, Rayaru’s huge hand appeared from the river several hundred meters down below up to the tracks, and took the family into His palm, and left them back on the tracks after the train went past them. This was a real experience of Rayaru’s kindness. And, the person is none other than the 85-year old, AM. Rajagopalan who is the author of the very popular weekly, “Kumdham Jothidam”.
I’d also like to tell you and other readers humbly that my wife and me have had visions and dharshans of Sri Lakshmi Nrisimhar several times over. These are all very unique, kind gestures shown to us by the Supreme Lord. Devotees though, I don’t understand why the Lord should be so kind to us, one of the very ordinary, nonconforming to any sacred principles. But, we delight in the bliss of being in extreme ‘Bhakthi’ towards the Lord. I can write volumes and volumes of such divine experiences of Lord Lakshmi Nrisimhar. I haven’t written this because of my pride. Rather because of my humility and humbleness, I write this: Now, I ‘know’ if you’re a serious devotee of God, you can pray Him/Her/It in any form, in any manner, and so on, the Almighty will help you. But, somehow, God has given me the opportunity of praying Him in the name of Nrisimhar, and in That divine form. Thank you for the opportunity. May all be blessed by God.

Your comment has humbled me even more, Bgrinner. Please do share all your experiences in this blog. Lord Narashima is the home deity in my Mom’s house. And our Guru Rayaru himself is a great devotee of Lord Narashima when he was Prahalada.

Thanks so much for your wonderful comments. Like I said in my post, you all have become a part and parcel of my life, my extended family. I am so happy about that.

Oh my God! Only Rayaru can do such wonders like what Sri Rajagobalan experienced and save everyone of his devotees. He is a true saint. Blessed he be. Let Lord Rama shower all his grace and kindness on him everyday forever.

Let the great Sankukarna’s wish be fulfilled by God. Whichever form Sankukarna alais Rayaru wants to workship the Lord, let Lord appear in that form and bless Sankukarna.

      Om Shrim Raghavendraya namaha

Pujyaya Shri Raghavendraya satya dharma vradhaya cha
      Bajadham kalpavrikshaya namadham kamadhenave

We all live in this world which is full of problems with the only hope that there are great saints like Sri Raghavendraswamy to guide us and save us whenever required.

Let God bless all the true saints.

Mrs. Meeraghu: It’s time we realized that it’s Lord Nrisimhar and Rayaru made you say what you said and perceived. It’s absolutely ridiculous we’d think that we’ve done this or that. God chooses, and runs the world as He wishes (with a certain purpose) which we, mortals can’t understand. However, out of His own mercy, He selects among us a few, and makes us do what He plans. We’ve fortunate that He’s allowed us a glimpse of Him, may be, in material term a molecule of Him. This is out of His own ‘saulabiyam’ and ‘kalyaana guna’. We’re mere tools in His hands to carry out His commands as He desires. However, this act of itself is so great, and ecstatic. OK, can I tell you anything you don’t know? We can share our spiritual experiences and perceptions to our own delight, and to get rid of our sins. When possible, I’ll share my perceptions and realizations in this blog. This was the first time I’ve shared the Lord’s mercy in the open, because I always felt that it may amount to highheadedness. However, it’ll help direct other members also experience such divinity. Hence, there’s some justification we can bring out experiences to the open.
Nrisimhar and Rayaru have abundantly blessed you and your family. I bow before you. And, I’ll narrate a few of the instances of my ‘seeing’ Nrisimhar, when He allows me. Thank you, devotee, for taking me as a member of your family. These are all God’s extreme mercy.

    sri,
spell bound, coming back after an hour, to write this.
a pankaja has blossomed, unattached by panka of hectic routine of most modern life, a necessary evil, a physical nourishment to the flower,– the flower retaining its inner purity, despite ,—– manifesting own beauty in full.
the magnificent dream indicates a very refined state of consciousness, reflecting the finer levels it has penetrated as a result of intense spiritual endeavors, to be precise, the fineness of the 4th state–thureeya– permeating the 3 states–sushupthi, swapna, jaagruth. as the consciousness evolves, it provides deeper experiences on the way —such as ,rayaru manifesting in your puja room, seen only by you, or others who have attained such refinement.—this experience of yours providing me a more thorough understanding of experiences of thukaram, meerabai, and other devotees, lending credibility to such episodes normally regarded as only stories, due to lack of live experiences. your contribution is precious.

    Dear Meeraji,
thanks for sharing your dream with the visitors of this website. I am also a devotee of Guru Raghavendra, without reciting His name , i will not initiate anything. We have a Ashothara group in Chicago land. Once in a month we meet at one of the member’s home and recite “stotra” together 108 times. I have been experiencing so many miracles by His grace, believe me i can write a book. As you do I also listen to Vishnu sahasra namam on the way to duty and then songs on Guru Raghavendra sung by Bellur sisters. My wife is also a deep devotee of Rayaru.(of course my kids too) Because of your blog i could interact with wise men like Mr Hrishikesh. May Srihari, Vayu and Rayaru bring much more prosperity and happiness to your family.

    Hello Meera.

I just wanted to share my experience after reading your blog. Last evening, I read your blog and was filled with emotion thinking of Gururaja and how many people He blesses everyday. My parents are also great devotees of Rayaru. I try to do seve in anyway possible. I recite his stotras everyday, write “Om Shri Raghavendraya Namaha” 108 times and do 21 namaskaras chanting the same. He has done so many miracles in our lives that I cannot even count them. After reading the blog, I was overwhelmed and thinking of Him throughout the evening. After I fell asleep at night, all through the night till morning 5AM when my baby woke me up, I was seeing my beloved Gururaja’s pictures in my dreams. It was like the best night sleep ever !!!

When I was pregnant, I used to crave for Rayaru’s prasada. Staying in US, it is really hard to find Rayaru matha near my place. I did not let my parents know about this craving. But, Rayaru knows everything. To my biggest surprise, my parents came with a box full of Mysore Pak sent for me by Rayar matha as Rayaru’s prasada. I couldn’t ask for more, but, Rayaru is always there for his devotees.

Rayaru recently blessed me with a job offer too. I am presently on a H4 visa status. I have been job hunting since beginning of 2009, and could not take up an offer in 2009 due to personal reasons. Due to recession, it is very tough to get visa sponsors, and inspite of outstanding academic record and prior experience, I have not had any luck. But, suddenly, in December 2010, the company I interned with during my MS, approached me with a job offer. They knew my situation and were kind enough to still consider me because of my previous work. The interview process went at a lightning speed (fastest in the company history), and they even filed for my LCA. But, since the visa quota got over on Jan 26, they could not file for my H1B and hence could not complete the hiring process. Now, since they have to wait for another 8 months for me to start (my earliest start date can be Oct 1), they said they will get back to me. I am waiting to hear back from them, and pray to Gururaja to bless me with that job.

    Please do pray for me.

Awesome, Varuni. That’s why our Rayaru is called “Kalpavriksha Kamadhenu”. You don’t have to ask him anything, he knows all our wishes. My Dad who goes to Purana every evening at 4th T block Raghavendra Swamy mutt was saying we should never ask him anything. He knows to read our minds, and he will give whatever we are destined to. My father keeps saying” Can we withdraw more money than we have in our bank account?”.

So, you have rightly said that Rayaru knows everything.

I just wanted to bring one thing to your notice though, in the post about Rayaru’s birthday, in the 2nd paragraph, there is a mistype. It should be sacred, but it is mistyped as scared. Could you please correct it.

Your experience is really touching. I firmly believe that Rayaru is always there to help his devotees. Sometimes I get frustrated by the delay and then I realise that whatever he has done has only been fruitful. An uncle once told me when I was small that while praying to rayaru , “You should never ask him ‘Will you help me? You should always say ‘Only you can help me’ and surrender to him.He might give you what you desire for a little late however what he gives u will be strong”

    dear meera,
It is indeed true that sri rayaru has been blessing his countless devotees by giving darshan in dreams. You are truly blessed. Just a month ago, my husband, myself and my son had gone to mantralaya for a week.My husband took the vows for sankalpa seva and completed it. On the final day, he was instructed by sri rayaru to go to sonda to seek blessings of sri vadiraja thirtha and sri bhootarajaru. I hope meera that you expand your blog to include all madhwa saints and haridasas.

Yes, Suman. I am also a great devotee of Sri Vadirajaru. They say, if for some reason Rayaru isn’t able to fulfill our wishes he sends us to Sri Vadirajaru. It happened to my Paternal Grandfather. I should post that incident as well. My father keeps telling about.

    Meera Akka,

I want to call you akka as am the only daughter from a traditional brahmin family and after my marriage, I had always felt the vaccum of not having a sister. But, referring your site for poojas, songs, recipes, I have felt that vaccum filling up!

Like you, even I had a wonderful experience of seeing Rayaru in my dream. Even now when I remember that, a chill runs in my spine. It was in 2009 Nov when I had an oral communication from my new company to join them ASAP. Based on this, since I had to give 3 months notice to the company I was working then, I gave my resignation. But, the offer letter in e-mail or in hardcopy from the new company didn’t come at all for almost 3 weeks!

I was really tensed and I checked my mail in the night and was very disappointed. The same thing was running in my mind and early morning – I had a dream that one ajja had something in his hand and I told raghavendra and tears started rolling down my eyes and I woke up. Then I went on to work and didnt check my personal emails till night. And when I checked, I had the offer letter from the new company! Though it was a 2 hr journey from my Mother’s house I accepted it and to my surprise, my marriage settled in the next 2 months and the house where am married to now, is just 20 mins drive to office!

Its all Rayara karune on me, where I had to change the job and got a house very near to the work place.

    Om Namo Raghavendra!

No problem. My sister’s name is also Suma. She stays around 15 miles from my home. What a coincidence.
It was a great pleasure reading Rayaru’s miracle. No end for Rayaru’s miracles in anyones life.

      • Ragavendra Mahima cannot be expressed in Words. Devotees generally seek for material benefits and he blesses them with them and make their devotion more finer for spiritual progress. But those who seek the purpose andtruth of life are more encouragd by Swamigal and comes very near to them. I will request the readers to read the miracles
@ragavndra.org where several devotees have expressed the miracles of Gurugalu that happened in their lives. To quote an incident my son was driving from Austin to Ulles on the night. He normally puts on the slogas and carnatic classicals and drives the care. Y ou know there is not street lights on the high ways. A wagon coming from behind touched his vehicle on the door side and sped away. My son’s car took three round about turns and the brakes failed. The car touch the divider between the road and stopped. By athe Grace of Rayaru Swamigal not even scratch on his body and he was saved. He was dazed in the darkness, but fortunately by divine grace a van coming behing stopped and took him to the hotel for night. Have faith, Swamigal will do any thing for his devotee.

Dear Meera – It’s really great to see your writings about Rayaru and other Madhwa community related events. Reading your articles make me get more closer to Manthralaya and to Rayaru. I wish I was staying close to NJ so that I too could have attended the Rayaru B’day Celebration and got a chance to meet you there. I have told many of my Family Members in India about the website and your work. Look forward to meet you one day.

    Hello,

I am Maha from Bangalore, was googling about Rayaru who has always been my favorite god all the time.everyday i pray him, recently a week ago, he came in my dream, looks quite old but not very old,but lot of TEJAS on the face, spoke few words in kannada and hinted me that one of us from the family should come to mantralaya within march 2011,so booked train ticket thru tatkaal, his grace got a ticket, but unfortunately I am not in a shape to go to Mantralaya,so my husband is leaving today. I am around 29-30, suddenly from past two months , I am not able to walk later discovered it is osteoarthritis, and degeneration of tissues and cartilage something like that around the joints, I have a 2 year old child ,using crutches, not able to work, feel very bad and disgusted with myself. After using Rayaru Mruthyaki ,after that I am atleast able to walk around 25 meters. Praying him constantly that my leg should become alright, as I have responsibility towards my son and family. Please Pray for me that I should become back to normal, atleast i should get some strength in leg to drop my child to school and pick him up. Feel very disgusted with my health.Everything is in the hands of Rayaru.
But still wondering why Rayaru told within March one of us should come ( He sounded very firm when he said that).I can forget this dream in my life.

    Hello Mrs Meera…
There is a place near Bangalore that is called Kamadhenu Kshetra. It is where Rayaru resides performing miracles every single day. I heard about this place and was quiet adamant to visit it at least once. I did and have been following the puje vidhana ever since they told me what to do.I had a dream involving rayaru. Though i did not see Rayaru but a very strange thing happened. The person i want to marry came in my dreams and said ‘Raghavendra Swamy’… I for many days cried to Rayaru asking him to give me another sign because i could not believe what had just happened. I have lost contact with this boy though i still deeply love him. I am still scared/ petrified. I ask Rayaru crying everyday, to tell me that what i am doing is right.. A little voice inside me goes” just be patient”.. I do not know who this voice belongs to. I hope, since you have experienced Rayaru’s grace will be able to tell me what it is that it meant.. What did that dream of mine mean?
I hope this does not seem like a silly question to you. I am a very paranoid person, very highly unsure about myself. I just hope rayaru is watching and listening…
    Thanking you

        Hi Preeti
my akka’s name is also preeti. Rayaru’s mata in Kamadhenu kshetra is very special. Here you can meet a person called Gurushesh, he has divine visions from Rayaru and he can help you with whatever problems you may have by telling you about the puje vidhana that will be required of you. In general, however you can light thuppada deepa in front of rayaru and pray there. It is all that is required. He sees everything, knows every single thing and understand what your heart is telling you even if sometimes you don’t. My life is in big question right now about my future and he is my only guiding light. i feel so safe around him. There are also rayara books you can buy at that mata and return it the next time you go there. Kamadhenu Kshetra is a blessed sacred place, make the best of your visit. You will feel an amazing calm after that. The first time I went there, i heard Rayaru’s name being called in my dream. I felt very lucky.

Talk to your parents and see what they feel. Rayaru’s krupe will always be on those who believe in him.

When i went to the Kamadhenu Kshetra, when i stood in front of Rayaru and asked for the answer to this question, a flower fell from the right side. I had 2 dreams with this boy and something always to do with Rayaru. Either Rayaru’s name being said by him or a book of Rayaru being touched by this boy. I just don’t want to lose sleep over this matter anymore and hurt myself anymore. Does Rayaru just instantly figure out our pain even without us asking? I fear he cannot hear me. I chant the Vishnu Sahasranama everyday. The moment i chant it i feel lighter. Though my folks don’t know about this matter, they would not be hurt as this would be a suitable match. Thank you though Meera akka. I am happy i got in touch with someone who saw Rayaru beaming like the sun. I talk to noone else other than Rayaru and Sri Hari. They have become my confidants. If you do daily puje to Rayaru please say a small prayer to him for me to ease my pain. I believe in him so much i cannot tell you.

If your parents do not know about this boy, than you should take the initiative and tell your parents. Maybe they can help.

If you believe in Rayaru and Sri Hari, than just trust them, and they know what is good and bad for you. There is nothing to worry in that case. Take life as it comes.

I have been visiting Raghavendra matt from my childhood but unfortunately never knew the story of Gururaya. But we are very much blessed to have a serial “Guru Raghavendra Vaibhava” being telecasted in Suvarna channel everyday @ 10:30PM. We would feel some thing missing if we dont watch this serial before hitting bed.

    Hello Meera akka,
I was in Mantralaya this weekend. I was so overwhelmed just getting off the bus there that i had to fight back tears. we freshened up and left for the temple, visited manchalamma first and then went on to the mutt to do seva first. Once the seva was done we were guided inside gate no 8 into the main hall where we were waiting to catch a glimpse of Rayaru. There was considerable crowd though it wasn’t a thursday nor weekend and the security guards were asking people to move quickly and were quiet, will not say mean, but stringent. When i came close to actually seeing my rayaru i couldn’t contrlo myself and started crying like a little baby. So much so that i couldn’t even say Raghavendra completely( bikki bikki alu). Don’t know what happened to the guard he said,” Ninthko ma, adu yesht hotthu nilthiyo ninthko, kelko, prarthane maadu”. I just stood there crying seeing my lord that my head went blank. Later i thanked the guard for being so kind to me. He said “parvagilla bidi”. Astonishing= I never saw that security guard again though I spent almost my whole day in the mutt! I don’t know what to say. I thought it was just my imagination as i am so pessimistic. But this wasn’t it. I was asked to stay and see my Rayaru as long as i wanted, just sobbing and barely able to say” Ra Ra..”.. My beloved Rayaru heard the voice of my heart cuz i was worried on the way to Mantralaya whether i would be able to spend some time in front of him. And look what he does!!

One more thing. As part of my seva to him i had imagined i would chant the Vishnu Sahasranama in front of his Brindavana. But i did not get a chance a chance in the morning, so i sat in front of a window which had a view of my lord and chanted the VS before lunch. I forgot about it and we went back to the room for 2 hours to relax. In the evening by about 5 we went to the mutt again and this time it was not crowded. I told dad, let us just go sit there in front of Rayaru’s Brindavana in btw him and Mukyaprana. I was just sitting there and not thinking of anything when dad all of a sudden said” Yenaadru odthiya andre odamma, Vishnu Sahasranama odthiya? ” I was taken aback as i just imagined doing this, not voiced it out and since i had already chanted it once outside i thought this is all the chance i will get and never thought about it. It’s as if my thoughts became solid reality. People will call it coincidence but those of us who believe in Hari know that there is no such thing as coincidence. I was truly amazed with what happened. I always had a feeling that God overlooks me and does not listen to me and laughs at my requests. Only after i met Rayaru has my opinion about the Supreme changed. I thank him with my soul and all i can is Nambi kettavarillavo namma rayara!!

I wanted to know how that mantra has helped people.. Also i found this song about Rayaru, hope all of you like it.. It’s called Kannai mudi.. It goes something like this.. ” Raghavendrar is there, so close your eyes and sleep peacefully, he is always there for us, like a father and a mother, he is with us, he is always with us, so go to sleep peacefully my beloved”… I listen to this when i cannot sleep or when worried..

    Dear Meera akka,
I really pray you read this. i really really do. Can Rayaru ever get angry with us? I have been in mental agony for a really really long time. I don’t understand if i have done something wrong or my time is bad. I am too much in pain. I told you i visited Mantralaya, right? A while ago i dreamed of Rayaru. Not exactly him in flesh and blood but of his picture. But the frame was broken. I remember crying over it. Like i was crying as if i was about to die. The funny thing was Rayaru was sitting in Shankaracharya’s position. But the face was crystal clear Raghavendra swamy, as if to say “I am everywhere, and i am everyone”. So i dreamed that the frame was broken. Today it happened. The glass of the frame broke and i also died along with that because i saw it happening. I got a brand new frame done immediately. But i am wondering if he can get angry with us. He is such a mother of a soul that it is impossible for me to even imagine him angry but i cannot stop thinking about it or how i hurt him. I told him i will quit asking him for things. But meera akka, people say NOBODY has lost believing in Rayaru or that noone has come back disappointed from Mantralaya. Can he get angry and actually let go of undeserving souls. It sounds so impossible but even mothers get angry alwa. Please i request anyone who read this post to reply. I would like someone to throw a light on this. I am in dire need of answers. I cannot sleep or eat if i hurt Rayaru in anyway. Please help with answers.

      Megha,
I am not sure why you are worrying so much. If you have so much faith in Rayaru, why worry. Whatever happens, happens for good. Rayaru is like our Father, don’t we say ” Thande ninnu Raghavendra, Thayyi ninnu Raghavendra”. He is everything for us.

So, he definitely will not be angry on his devotees. So, take it easy, and spend all the time you worry, in reciting his name “Sree Raghvendraya Namaha”. You will see the difference.

      Hope this helps.

Many of our fears are out of insecurities. Rayaru is one who is above all worldly perceptions like hate, jealosy, etc. Maybe sometimes we are tested, so that we become stronger and handle larger things in life. In the end what matters is that we sail through this ocean of life without much damage to exterior. Our Interior is always untouched. But what happens with our exterior: physical, mental, emotional, social; is carried as karma. This is where we need to keep faith in our Guru, I believe. After every strong experience, anything for that matter, we should make sure to come in the right channel, so that we evolve and are not shattered! Chanting Lord’s name, doing Guru’s seva, having nobel thoughts are a few ways.
We are at very small level when compared to Rayaru. An enlightened being like Rayaru
will always do good for His devotees. Our logical mind can never even think of what Rayaru does on many different levels to protect his devotees!

Yes i will. I am a pessimistic soul. Not much good has happened for me in the past couple of years. But sometimes i feel Rayaru entered my life only recently to do some major change and damage control in it. I heard only the very fortunate even come across Rayaru and his greatness. So there must be a reason that i met him. I learnt the Vishnu Sahasranama only because of Rayaru, as if he like a strict but gentle teacher sat and taught me. I could not even pronounce one single syllable and now after i started worshiping Rayaru, i can chant it like drinking water. Thank you for your quick response. Thank you Meera akka, you have become a source of faith and hope for me with the words you speak about Rayaru.
Wish you the best of happiness.
And yes i will chant the mantra. I surely will!! I will keep doing it in my sleep too

    Hi
I am from Bangalore and ardent devotee of Lord Sri Venkateshwara, Lord Sri Hanuman nad Lord Sri Ayappa. I have heard a lot about Sri Raghavendra, but honestly I was not really clear about the miracles and power of Sri Raghavendra.
I used to ask quite a lot of my friends who had ardent faith in Sri Ragahavendra. Every one used to say something is great – but none could explain anything clear that would draw my attention or bring the belief within me of Sri Raghavendra.
But still I used to think of the Sri Raghavendra as I used to pass the temples of Sri Raghavendra almost every day to my office.. something valuable is within him which I am yet to realise.
My regular temple visits to Sabariala , Banaswadi ( an age old Anjaneya temple) , Bande Anajaneya and Lord Venkateswara temple at ( Nandidurg road) and Tirumala continued.

Just to tell all in the Blogs … this happend to me today – early this morning.

Today Nov 5th, 2011 Saturday around 5.30 am morning , I had dream – was in a temple of Sri Raghavendra. Quite a few devotees were in front of me and the Aarti was offered to Sri Raghavendra and Thulasi Maadam.

In the morning dream, Sri Raghavendra rose and offered flowers especially Sampangi and Thulasi to all devotees in front of me. I was watching and Sri Raghavendra rose and told me ” I am sending the flowers and thulsai prasad to you , I do not want to throw this out to you. I am sending you this prasad” – which I receive immediately. Sri Raghavendra then in the standing posture blesses me with both hands. I felt a huge huge calm and happiness – contentment within me – this is when i woke.
Honestly I did not ask for any boon or wish. Today I visited the Sri Ragahavendra temple near my house along with my Saturday temple vists of Lord Hanuman and Lord Venkateshwara.
I was alone with Sri Raghavendra and the remple priest and I asked the priest – ” I had a dream …nothing more – ”
The priest said I cant explain DREAM .. will explain travel to Mantralaya….

Akka, from many days I’m reading our beloved Rayaru’s miracles performed in devotees life, today (13/11/11) I came across your site. What to tell about “Guru Rayaru”, he is everything for me and he has performed many miracles in my life whatever I’m today it is all because of Rayaru’s blessings on me. From today onwards akka I’ll make sure I’ll chant “Sri Ragavendraya Namaha” as many times as possible. Akka, I pray to Rayaru to bless all his devotees whole heartedly.

    Shwetha,
I too have been longing to see my dear rayaru for eons.. He is there have doubt about that.. Meera akka along with millions of others are proof of this. I go to see my rayaru regularly. I kept asking him,”Please gurudeva, always be with me” and yesterday an old lady i helped in the temple to walk up the stairs said” May Raghavendra Swamy always be with you” . I was crying on the way back home because he managed to speak through someone i just randomly helped. He is always watching, always aware, ever loving. You will see him, either in your dreams or for real. Hare Srinivasa..

    I miss Rayaru, Meera akka!

I am in USA studying now.. and i am finding it very difficult to be here.. he is everywhere and he helps us all the time but i miss him… what can i do so that i don’t miss him this much meera akka.. I he always there watching us? Without us even asking for him for help, he knows what we want? Meera akka tell me in some way that i don’t miss my rayaru this much.. I chant Om Sri raghavendraya namaha, vishnu sahasranama is listened by me daily but in this country i feel alone without rayaru and my parents.. Rayaru is my mother and father and my best friend.. But i am not able to speak to him freely…. What can i do to keep my courage intact?..

    Dear Meera,

It was really nice to read your post. You truly are blessed. Today morning around 5:30 am, I had a dream where I am in a place similar to Mantralaya. There is a Brindavan and someone who looks like rayaru is sitting and doing pooja. I hear lot of stotras and I am there with my kids. It was truly unbelievable dream. Its around 10 am in the morning now and I am still trying to come out of it. After reading your post, I believe that it must be rayaru in my dreams. I have believed in Rayaru from my childhood and recently from last year, I have started worshipping him more than I used to do earlier. I believe you are right. Rayaru is everywhere. I am in Chicago and he coming in my dreams was an awesome feeling. Sri Raghavendraya Namah.

Came across this site, when was searching ‘Rayaru’. Amazing, Iam also a Rayara devotee, and feeling great about ur dream. Raghavendra Swamy has been part of my life. Sometimes Iam angry with Him also, like Iam with my loved ones. Till now He has not let me down, and I understand that He will never let me down. It seems that I just got to have some patience with certain problems. When the time is ripe, Rayaru always has been there. My major concerns are about health of my loved ones, their happiness. Iam now getting sure that Rayaru will take care. A Yogi, Sadhguru….He is…shouldering responsibilities of all His devotees! Where would I have found security without Rayaru? Are’nt we all blessed that we have Rayaru for us! ‘Sarve Jaana Sukhino Bhavanthu’. Om Shri Raghavendraya Namaha!

    Hi meera akka

Been a while since i wrote to you.. Its been such an eventful journey for me and my family so far. I met my aunt’s cousin who is a doctor here and she helped me out in the States to settle down. One day she just saw Rayaru’s photo( Nanjangud mata) on my desktop and asked me to send it to her.. From the moment she got the picture, her life changed completely. Impossible things that she never imagined, great things happened to her. i gifted her with a photo of Rayaru and told her whenever she feels lonely and sad or just like talking to someone, talk to Rayaru. he will be your best friend antha. One night, she was feeling really scared and hugged the photo I gave her and tried to sleep.. The moment she closed her eyes she felt the presence of a pure white light. She opened her eyes and saw no one and she thought it was imagination and went to sleep. bt again same thing happened. She told me she never got scared but she became so peaceful after that, as if that white light stayed with her assuring her. I told her that Rayaru had arrived and he will protect her..

Meera akka, i have tears in my eyes whenever i hear or think of these things. the things i hear and when i know Rayaru is always there for me and will be my guiding light, in darkness and in light and in happiness and in sorrow, i feel no greater joy. He is so loving and so caring that i cannot even begin to tell you. Everytime i tell or ask someone to go to rayara mata and that they will get solution, they come back and thank me.. They say something changed, something feels good. as human beings we carve material things… But when Hari and Rayaru are there, i do not understand how a man can want anything more.. They are fuel in my life… everytime i am sad or cry and i tell myself, “aye alodu nilsu.. Rayaru iruvaaga althaara? rayaru iddare”! All i have to do is say his name and there he is as my armor.. thank you..

    Sri Raghavendra…

I read all your posts – and one thing is for sure – you are a 100% Sri Raghavendra Swamigala devotee. I myself have experienced HIS grace first hand (having been saved from late stage cancer !!!) –
Do you chant the ‘Sri Guru Stotra’ (composed by Sri Appanacharya) EVERYDAY ?
If not, please do so… that stotra has tremendous powers.

Sri Rayaru is a true saint living in Mantralaya and performing miracles every single day and night. He is truly the Kalpavriksha kamadhenu and Raghavendra stotra that is sung in complete praise of him unfolds the truth about him in every single line.

Blessed are those who get his Darshan in dreams and in person. The great saint knows everything and is capable of everything.

I cannot believe that I am seeing your post addressed to me this late.. I have a confession to make. The moment I read your post I broke down. Rayaru is my father, mother, Guru and my best friend. And a relative stranger (i say relative as I feel we all get Karmically connected once Krishna/ Rayaru enter our lives) for you to say that without knowing me that I am a devotee of this Parama Guru is beyond magic. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that compliment. Every night ends with a conversation with Rayaru and I sleep chanting Om Sri Raghavendraya Namaha. The voice in my heart is Rayaru and the thought in my head is Rayaru. Always. I am so happy that you have come out of that situation. We live in a very cynical world. Everyone loses hope the moment they have it tough. But the path to Krishna is one of pure surrender and love. I can only wish and hope more people like yourself have the courage to have unshakable faith in our Rayaru and Krishna. But like they say, only the very fortunate get the Bhagya of serving Rayaru. I have grown to depend on him more and more each day. Me seeing the post today was no coincidence. I was in pain thinking that I had not been a good devotee to Rayaru, that I might forget him in my happy times and only remember him in bad times. But see, he made sure I read your post tonight. He is everywhere and everything is through him. He is our Kavacha. He still holds my hand like a father every night when I go to sleep.

I hope Rayaru showers his blessings on you and your blessed family furthermore.

    Sri Raghavendra

      Megha avare,
      Thanks for the kind words…
Actually there are a lot of people in this world who do have unshakeable faith in Rayaru .
Fortunately, I am able to attend the Thursday Puja to Rayaru regularly at the Sri Krishna Vrundavana temple in Edison NJ and I see a lot of devotees there.
As I said earlier, learn the Guru Stotra and chant it everyday.
Also, I often write ‘Om Sri Raghavendraya Namaha’ 11 times with devotion.

Please visit this web-site for some good devotional pictures of Rayaru (especially the Pratika murti of Rayaru in Nanjangudu (near Mysore):

I am glad you wrote back. I have visited Najangud Rayara Mata and I fell in love with that place. It is magical to visit it. I swear to you, when they were doing Abhishekam i saw Rayaru’s eyes blinking. I was astounded. Rayaru has changed my life and saved me
more than I can imagine. I miss him immensely even though I know that he is everywhere, I miss him so much! I am really happy that Meera akka has provided this platform and I get to interact with good souls like you.

        Dear Vin
I am glad you liked the song. That song has put me to sleep when I was crying and pulled me out of really bad situations. He is there. He is always there and he is always watching. I will pray for you too. Thank you for your kind comments. He will protect you.. always, never forget that

        Dear Megha Sister,

Thank you so much for your reply to my comments on the song(Kanni mudi….) . My last visit to this blog was one year back(Nov 2011).. After that now and then received email about others experience/comments/reply.But because of some problem I couldnt see this block.Today is my birthday. I went to Nanganallur Anjaneya Temple and Our beloved guru’s brindavana. After that I came to home and started hearing Sri Raghavendra’s songs .Also thinking about whether rayaru will come in my dream today. In mean time I opened my email and saw email about some update on this blog. I just opened and saw your comment after one year that too on my birthday and suddenly felt like thats the message from rayar thru you. Thanks Akka.

hey preeti….2day i dont know why somehow i felt like visiting this page…and saw ur commet…i had done a 3 day seva by keeping Rayaru photo…the procedure is similar to what meera has written……one thing i must tell here….do with lots of devotion…GURU RAGAVENDRA is definatly watching u…..caring for u as a father…guiding u as a teacher…loving u like a mother….listining to ur dificulties like a friend…

for the smallest of the smallest things for the biggest of the big things in my life there is only Rayaru Rayaru and Rayaru.i dont know the world without him…..as a small girl i used to watch my mom doing Rayaru seva..from there it started….

there is some sort of happiness and peace i feel when i do the seva…
that day before i slept there was a thought in my mind.
.”Rayaru has so many big big devotees where He will think of me”…this thought just came and went in my mind and i slept……then i got this wonderful dream,of Rayaru smiling at me
.i feel so good when ever i think of this dream…may b Rayaru was smiling at my silly thoughts…a devotee is a devotee not big or small…..its all with the devotion and bhakti u do the seva………

Thanks for sharing your experience. Perhaps you are younger to me in age; but still you had the divine blessings to see Sri.Rayaru. Therefore I bow to you in respect. Of course during my younger days, I was going to Sri. Raghavendra Mutt at Mysore evrey day and one fine day (I still remember the day, it was on 15th June 1973) Sri Sushameendra Theertha (then he had not taken up Sanyasa) came in my dream and gave me a big roll of Jasmine Flower. The next day, I got an appointment order in a Govt. of India organisation.

My my wife latha could not succeed in Bank competitive examination. She got a regret letter to say that she had not succeed in interview. We just went to Mantralaya and did seva for three days. On the last day of seva we could not get even a single piece of Parimala Prasada. We were bit disappointed. But that night Rayaru came in the dream of my wife and gave her parimala Prasada in one full tray. The next day we got a letter from the Bank recruitmet board withdrawing the earlier communication and posting her to one of nationalised bank. She has now put in more than 26 years service there.

The third is regarding my daughter’s marriage. We went to Mantralaya and we had taken the horoscope of my daughter with an intention of requesting the priest to keep the horoscope before the Brundavana to seek the blessing of Rayaru. As we were praying flowers from right side of Moola Brundavana fell down. We were immensly happy and after some time it was our turn for Darshana.

we requeted the Priest to keep the horoscope before the Brindavan. The priest kept the horoscope before Brindavan and gave it back to us after few minutes along with the same flowers that had fallen down from the Moola Brindavan. We were very much happy and camne back to Bangalore.

Within hours of reaching Bangalore, we got a telephone call from our (now) bheegaru who are in Raichur (which is about 30 kms from Mantralaya) saying that they had sent the horocope of their son for an alliance to my daughter. The horoscope matched and I communicated it to them. They requested us to go over to Rayachur along with my daughter on Sunday. So, I went to Raichur and along with my wife, son and daughter. After the bride and groom met each other we again went to Mantralaya and obviously this was second Darshana of Rayaru within a week’s time.

That was Dhanurmasa and we got at about 4 AM had Darshana of Rayaru again. At that time the purohit (who was also known to us) gave us Panchamrutha in a botttle. We planned to take it on way to bangalore and packed it and kept it in the car. Just befor we were leaving Mantralaya, our Beegaru called me and said the boy and other members of the family are happy and they want to continue the alliance. In the meanwhile we reached Bangalore at about 10 PM in the night. Surprisingly the Panchamrutha which the priest gave us at about 4.30 AM remained fresh even after about 14 hours. We had kept it in the car in the midst of other luggae and despite it remained fresh and happily took the prasada of Sri Rayaru.

My daughter got married to the boy and they are happily settled in Bangalore. Of course, my daughter is expected to deliver her child in the next few weeks.

Sri Rayaru has heped me and has been helping me even without a formal request from me for help. He has bailed me out during my diffiuclt days and all that I can say is Sri Rayare nimage Koti Koti Namaskaragalu.

one day it so happened that early in the morning…. i had a dream…
” Our very close neighbhour… right from childhood… uncle and aunty are very close to us… uncle is staunch devotee of god… in my dream uncle took me to some place…. i really dont know which place was that….. and as per my knowledge it was some village… and there he took me to a rayar matta….. it was quite a big matta… there as soon as we entered we found a queue for the prasadam…. and uncle took me to the front in the queue and he told achar to give me prasadam …. the achar gave me HAND FULL OF HOT HOT UPPITTU and PARAMANNA in a leaf and blessed me…. ”

Hello everyone…… I would like to share wonderful and astonishing experience with raghavendra swamy… this truly happened in my life and it is realy not a dream..

We our family constantly kept on praying rayaru since very long time…. and at later point of time our problem got solved and immediately after 3 or four days we experienced a miracle… this happened in 2011…..

It so happened that we received a post… and we disclosed it … and in that we received rayaru’s mantrakshathe and kumkum and prasadam and a small seva slip…..

That moment we were realy so surprised…. and later we saw the address and found that it was sent from THEKKATTE a place near udupi it seems …which is also called as “KIRU MANTRALAYA”…the rayar matta there is called so it seems..

We have not even visited to that place and we dont even have clue of that place. We were actually confused as such whether it was sent to us only or somebody else..And to our astonishment my father’s name and house address was EXACTLY PERFECT…. we were very surprised and i dont know how to put it in words..
And later we were happy… and we were satisfied that our prayers have reached rayaru…

We receiving a post from an unknown place with the exact name and address “MY GOD!!!!”…. SURPRISING AND ASTONISHING…

We are native of bangalore and we dont know any person from that place nor have visited…. and we realy dont know who has sent it at right point of time…. it is none other than our beloved rayaru….

Rayaru is always with us… HE IS THERE TO HELP US ALL….. if we believe him from bottom of our heart.. each one of us will experience HIS miracles.
This is an unforgettable incident in my life and i will preserve His post for life time..

MAY RAYARU BLESS ALL OF US… nambi kettavarilla namma rayarannu..

How are you? I am well and I have just completed my education with a Masters degree. Each and every day is Rayaru’s blessing. I do not wake up without seeing his face and without telling him I do not sleep. I am now actively looking for a job and I’m sure he will show the way. I hope everything is well for you and your family.
I had a dream a couple of weeks ago where Rayaru was resting with his head on his shoulders and hands(like AnanthaShayana). I then suddenly dreamed that i then rest on his elbow and sleep. and both me and Rayaru are sleeping like mother and child. He makes me believe that every single day he is with me and worth living and breathing for. He is the source of my happiness and no other. I am not an emotionally dependent person but the one person I can cry and laugh with is Rayaru. He patiently listens when I am crying and then puts me to sleep like a child. I hold his picture with me when I go to sleep. I never leave the house without his picture. It is true that he knows everything, every thought, every breath, every whisper and every tear. If Rayaru is in your life, there is nothing to fear. I say this not out of love for him but out of sheer experience. I was emotionally disturbed for a long time and it is him who got me out of it. He knows you better than you know yourself. Trust him for he knows what you need better than you do.

    Sri Raghavendra

      Shalini,
Anyone who is devoted to our beloved Rayaru will get immensely attached to him. I just can’t believe that in a few weeks I will be in India, and seeing Rayaru in Mantralaya. It brings me great happiness to just know I will see Rayaru soon. He has such attraction, and I am his ardent devotee.

The line you wrote”tumba preeti nange nimkandre” brought a huge smile on my face. I am so blessed to know you all through this blog.

    Hello everyone/Meera akka

    How are you..?

i’m missing rayaru tooo much these days…

I had visited mantralaya almost one and a half month ago…My parents prayed Rayaru with full devotion.. and my parents , sister and myself peformed seva with devotion..
My parents prayed a lot for my marriage.. they are always worried about me..
    Later we reached bangalore…
Soon after we reached bangalore…. 3 days later.. An old man in the evening was passing by in front of our house.. singing devara namas and he was wearing mudra with kache and he was madhawa.. Thatha is 80 years old.

I had seen Thatha the 1st time in 2011.. he came in front of our house singing “Jagadodhaarana adisidale yashoodaa. jagadodhaaranaaa…….
    Jagadodhaarana maganendu tileeyuta…
    magugala maanikyana aadisidale yashoodaa jagadhodaarana

    anooraneeyana mahatoo maheemana
    aprameyana aadisidale yashoodaa
    jagadoodhaarana..

    parama purushana paravasudevana
    purandara vittalana aadisidale yashoodaa..
    Jagadhodaarana…..”

He has a simply superb voice.. fantastic… u get thrilled with his voice.. maiyellaaa jummm annuthe haadodu keldre… Imagine his voice is so loud that it can be heard till the 10th house in the road.. such a beautiful and loud voice… he is in tears when he is singing… ashtondu bhaava haaduvaaga.. dasaranna noduva haage aguthe..
Then later i gave him dakshine and he blessed me.. And i again i dint see him at all for 2yrs..

Then later one day in Sep 2013 my parents and me had left for matrimonial registration.. on the way again i found thatha singing on the road ” jagadhodhaarana..”
after 2 long years.. his voice striked my mind..i got down of the car and gave him dakshine.. he took and he blessed me.. devaru chennagedle.. Thatha keeps on visting from one place to another..

But this time.. a one and a half months ago.. after we reaching to bangalore from mantralaya .. 3 days later in the evening he was singing and passing by in front of our house.. i ran behind him to give him dakshine..
he stopped after looking at me.. he came forward smiling.. then later he recognized that he has seen me.. i gave him dakshine.. SUDDENLY then he asked ninge ennu madve aagillva kanda.. i said no..SHOCKED I WAS.. he asked me to show my left hand.. then he said aaguthe yochane beda.. then he told i want to tell you something let us move into your house.. then i said ok and i took him into my house..he was chanting poojyaya raghavendraya continuously…
then again he looked into my left hand and he told about my education and attitude which was true.. and later he told “maduve aaguthe kanda you will win with your husband”… then he started to advice me how to be after marriage and to respect husband….and not to call husband in singular ..to be responsible in life.. and should get up early in the morning and to sleep 4 to 5 hrs,to be more serious in life after marrige and told me to analyze from now on.. and he asked me to pray sun god.. and he gave lots of advice.. he asked me to sing in the name of god with full devotion from bottom of your heart ..and he sang jagadhodhara and krishna nee begane baaro.. i recorded it.. he was in tears.. then he told me “when you sing devera naama .. you should make god to cry and pity you..and to sing loudly.. and to practice music everyday.. he likes vocal..”.. ha sang daye toorabaarade also with full bhaava and was in tears.. he told me to be very serious in life… he adviced me like advicing to a small kid.. i was very happy.. he used to tell kanda kanda..

my mom was very happy we treated him well.. he was happy too.. then he told i will remember your name.. and told ” if i’m alive i’ll come again next year to your house”.. he told what ever the trouble should be strong and he told “look at me how strong i’m and should always believe in god and should have open mind”..

While speaking he told that he is retired electrical engineer TATA motors jamshedpur.. he told once upon a time i used to move in flights every time.. But now hes not interested in anything other than god.. he writes books also.. he told he’s writing a book called “secrets of life”.. his memory power is good and he speaks very fluently kannada and english..
he is 80 years old.. he doesn’t even use spectacles .. he sees sun for 10 min without blinking ..he can see small letters also..he walks and walks and walks.. with the grace of god he is healthy.. he told he had lost his wife 18 years back and was very frustrated with his son and daughter in law.. So since 20 years he became like a sanyasi.. singing devera naama on roads.. advicing small kids and councelling families.. he told he has councelled 30,000 families for 20 min each family till now. hope to see thatha again soon.

it is none other than Guru Raghavendra sent me a message through this Thatha immediately after returning from mantralaya..

    OM RAGHAVENDRAYA NAMAHA..

thank u akka… i just cant forget this thatha for ever you know.. i felt very sorry for him that day.. i think he had not eaten anything.. i dont know from where he gets energy…my mother forced and gave him milk..he adviced me a lot with soo much of love and affection.. he askd me to do all work with concentration.. including god’s pooja.. he askd me not to fight with anyone.. he said doing pooja is + (plus).. and fighting with any1 is -(minus).. he said + * – = -… he said yeshte kashta bandru.. devaru nammanna parikshe maadthane.. devara nambake bidbeda..
he adviced me a lot .. not to get angry also… he adviced me in every aspect.. he is slim built and healthy.. rayaru give him good health..

Yes, Shalini. God always tests the one who prays the most. I completely agree with not getting angry. I myself am very controlled, and unless I see some injustice being done rarely get angry. It is important to convey your opinion without being angry. Not seen that in many people.

      Shalini,
Not sure what your question was. However, every thing we want to life takes time to happen. So, maybe patience is key here.
Have faith in our Rayaru, and things will happen when it has to.

Yes, Suman. I am also a great devotee of Sri Vadirajaru. They say, if for some reason Rayaru isn’t able to fulfill our wishes he sends us to Sri Vadirajaru. It happened to my Paternal Grandfather. I should post that incident as well. My father keeps telling about.

      Sir,
So sorry to hear about your wife. I am not the person who can say what seva needs to be done. I am any normal person like you. Please contact a priest who can suggest some pooje to be done.
My humble request would be to continue doing all pooje and sevas you are doing. Trust the Lord 100% and leave it to him.
      Hope this helps.

    Namaskara everyone/Meera Akka
How are you? I am doing well so far. I want to relate an incident that just happened today. I had gone for a wedding in August out of town and had carried my Vishnu Sahasranama book which had the Rayara stotra book in it. Once i reached there when i looked for it it was missing. I was very upset and turned the whole house upside down looking for it. I gave up. I got angry at Rayaru too and said how could he do that. After that i never saw the book. I had sort of given up chanting the VS and Rayara stotra for a while as I was depressed. I am a bhakte of rayaru by all means but I have no belief in my own self and find it so hard to cope with that. I have been looking for a job for so long and I haven’t found one and I am desperate. I just thought ok let me put on Guru Stotra and just listen so that I will stop crying. As I was listening i was looking for a tablet to take. When I opened my draw I just saw the VS book just sitting there as if it never left. I was shocked. I had searched everywhere and had not found it and now all of a sudden it was there. I think it was Rayaru telling me that he was there. I doubt him so much sometimes thinking that why will such a great soul waste time on me. But in small ways he shows that he cares. I just really really hope I find a job and relieve my parents and be an independent woman. I just hope he brings me out of this misery. Please say a little prayer for me too.
    Sri Hari

    Hi Meera Raghu
I have been closely following your website. Really happy to read about Ragayu. I live in US & a humble devotee of Rayaru. I am sharing my problems with a hope that Rayaru finds some solution. I have been trying to return back to India for 4 years. My family – wife is against the idea. She has convinced kids too to stay back. Kids listen to mother. Having old parents + having problems at work. Wife does not understand / care. I have been praying Rayaru to find some solution. Rayaru has shown a way — my company has a new opening in India & I have applied. Hope I get the offer….. Will post details later once things finalize. Om Sri Raghavendraya nam aha.
